Rosaria Butterfield, a former tenured professor of English and women’s studies at Syracuse University, converted to Christ in what she describes as a train wreck. Raised in a liberal Roman Catholic home, she earned her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University and, after years as an LGBTQ+ activist and academic specializing in 19th-century literature and queer theory, came to faith in 1999 through the influence of a local Reformed Presbyterian pastor and his wife. Ryan served as an advisor and public information officer for the 62nd Governor of Kentucky, Matt Bevin. He earned his Master of Divinity at theSouthern Baptist Theological Seminary and his Bachelor of Arts inEconomics from the University of Texas at Austin. Ryan has been married to Lauren Helfenbein for over 19years, and they have four children.
